      CMT isn’t something you recover from, it is a diagnosis you learn to live with. To give your body the best chance make sure you are eating a healthy diet full of protein and fiber and moving your body as much as you can.

    Watching a live without being able to look at the chat feels kind of weird. I actually cut back on what supplements I'm taking recently. I was doing something 4 times a day (even if it's just a CBD gummy), but with my schedule the way it is, and my mental health, I needed to simplify things. So, now, I just do my multivitamin and a Big Brain capsule in the morning, and my Sleepi capsule at night. Eventually, I may get back into doing the B-Complex and Fish oil, but that won't be until I get things a bit more settled, and I find a pill organizer that will work for me.

    I think soft life is great but it's not more feminine. It's resting and honoring yourself because life isn't only about productivity and financial improvement. It's about finding joy and love and trying new things. It's about kindness and making the world a better place. It's about growing and part of growth is knowing to be kind to yourself. It's not feminine or masculine to embrace that, and to respect your body and mind.

      Agreed. Softer life doesn't *have* to be feminine energy specifically, but in my current experience the two things are definitely going hand in hand.

    Hmmm. I might have to look into this whole high cortisol levels thing. I don't think I'm in a position right now to get any levels tested, but at this point I don't think trying a few things out as if I know my levels are high is going to hurt me (and honestly, they probably ARE high lol) Man... if I'm supposed to be most charismatic when ovulating then what am I like the rest of the month lol? I used to be able to handle artificial sweeteners just fine. I just kinda cut them out organically (I realized that I didn't like them, so I stopped forcing myself to eat/drink foods with them. Then, one day I tried something with sucralose and I didn't react well). I don't typically look too closely at cycle syncing, but occasionally I like to see if foods I'm into are also on the list. Turns out, the start of my hyperfixation on (hot honey) brussels sprouts actually aligns pretty well with my ovulatory phase [which I seem to just be coming out of based on estimates from the Apple Health app]. I also wonder how often I've decided to make my turkey "hash" around the start of my luteal phase (most of the ingredients I throw in it are on that list). I don't tuck in my shirts. It doesn't work for me and my body (I'm pretty sure that was discussed during my style class- which would actually be a great place to get some advice on this if you ever decide to make the investment). And honestly, I don't know if I WOULD tuck it in if I were you. I think tucking in the shirt underneath or wearing a body suit would make a huge difference because I think it's the black fabric peeking out below the button-down that's throwing me off. I think it either needs to be the bottom layer is tucked in with the shirt buttoned, or if the bottom layer us untucked then the shirt needs to be worn unbuttoned. (Also, I LOVE that floral shirt, but I'm kind of obsessed with tiny floral details. It's the natural ingenue in me) What. Is Gracie supposed to LEAVE her sunshine? Nonsense. It's bad enough her sunshine doesn't follow her around as it SHOULD.

      No! One shouldn’t be in a calorie deficit for more than 20 weeks at a time to preserve metabolic health, so reverse dieting at that point is acceptable.

    HOW DO YOU CALCULATE POINTS IN RECIPES? I need help.

      I no longer use any sort of Points system, as they’re not sustainable long term and can cause disordered relationships with food. In your apps there are recipe builder tools. You add the ingredients and insert the number of servings and it will tell you. It does take work up front. If it is a recipe that you already have nutrition info for, just pop that into your Points calculator.

    Great vlog!! Love the behind the scenes of batch filming. For the button down shirt, I would wear a lacy tank or bodysuit and only do a few buttons. You could also just tie it at the waist with the buttons open.

    Gluten-free is overrated for people who don't have celiac disease or a diagnosed gluten sensitivity. Favorite and underrated diet trend is combining Healthi with intuitive eating.

    Wegman's is my favorite grocery store in my area, the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. I like Aldi, which seems underrated. I agree Walmart is overrated. .

    Completely unrelated to the subject matter of the vieeo, but I LOVE that top. The crazy thing is, this myth is on BOTH sides of things. The dieting side sees IE as a free-for-all all where you just eat whatever you want, whenever you want. However, the intuitive eating community can be JUST as bad. Any talk of making a decision based on nutrition (even something as simple as "I picked this bread because it has more protein and fiber than that one") is greeted with cries of "That's restriction!" I remember when I was younger (like 8-12 years old), I'd go on weekend retreats with a church group. At the retreat center, things like fruits and vegetables were fairly limited, and of course we always brought plenty of snacks for late-night chats. We'd leave Friday and come back Sunday, and without fail, by the end of the trip, all I wanted was a good salad. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Personally, I too have my own guidelines. One of the ways this is most evident is when I pack my lunch and snack for work. My snack box is divided into two compartments. A 1 cup compartment and a 1/2 cup one. Part of my routine is putting fruit and/or veggies in the larger section. The smaller section includes a nice balance of other macronutrients. Often, it's cheese and crackers, but today, I packed roasted edamame. And when I pack my lunch, I follow a similar guideline. One section is ALWAYS filled with fruit, and another with veggies. Not only is it adding nutrition to my day, but it simplifies things when I'm throwing together a last-minute lunch. I'm not counting anything or keeping a running tally in my head because that's not healthy for me. But I still look at nutrition labels. I have specific calorie and protein counts I look for when trying new protein bars. And occasionally, I'll throw my smoothie pouches into a recipe builder so I can see how much protein and fiber is in each one. To me, part of what honoring my body means is taking the nutritional knowledge I have and using it. As Colleen from No Food Rules often says, YOUR BRAIN IS PART OF YOUR BODY. I know that adding a protein shake to my lunch helps me stay more satisfied than eating a PB&J without one, but that's something I discovered ONLY because I had a base knowledge of nutrition. It's not something I would have stumbled upon naturally. I realized that my lunch was a bit low in protein and I found a way to address it. It's not just that I have full permission to pack more food or add extra snacks to my afternoon. I saw a problem (I had a desire to eat everything after work even though it was only a couple hours since my largest meal of the day) and I used my nutritional knowledge to find a solution.

    One thing that has helped me is asking myself...does this food serve me and my goals? AND a reframe of good/bad foods...all foods fit in a balanced diet.i can have this food today and I can even have more if I truly want it

    One of the things I love about using my EC Compact Vertical is that it limits the number of to-do list items I can assign for each day. There are times where I run out of room and I have to decide what needs to be moved to the next day. And sure, there are times when I blast through all 12 or so items on today's list and then tackle items for tomorrow (it's all very flexible), but more often, those 12 slots are MORE than enough. Having those limitations on myself limits the feelings of overwhelm (and is one of the reasons digital to-do lists are not for me). I definitely need to look into this more. I've been struggling big time with my mental health over the last few weeks, and I'm embracing every little thing I can do just to get through. Right now, that includes eating a few more low-spoon meals (convenience foods), sticking to a "formula" for packing my lunches/snacks for work, and spending my lunch breaks reading. I'm also letting myself wear earplugs more often- anything to resist/limit the auditory overstimulation (and possibly make it possible for me to sleep without panicking).

    Last night I had a binge fest on some thing I have never binged on and have had in the house for months. I know it’s going on in my life that’s contributing to this and I also wonder I should go back to “diet-y” behaviors. I’ve binged more in the last month than I did for years. I’m still new to intuitive eating, but I think I’m gonna put stuff back in my car. AND I just looked at the box of the food I overate. It’s got THAT sweetener in it!! ACKKK

      There's no need to go back to diet-y behaviors. Your primary issue is you beliveing that having GUIDELINES and routines for yourself automatically makes them diet-y! You aren't living in the spectrum of color, but instead, total black and white thinking, and until you can reel in those thoughts and let go of "all or nothing," the food will not feel like something you can control.

    You look FANTASTIC in this video. I've been "out of control" with my eating lately. I use quotes because I KNOW I am in control and that everything I do is a choice. I've just been struggling with it. The second I get in my car after work or on my days off, I just don't take control. (Don't want to say I feel out of control or that I lose control). And it's NOT because I am restricting anything. I do have times where I consider going back to more "diety" behaviors. Maybe I should start tracking my food again. Or the idea of trying another Whole30 sounds intriguing. But I know that this "out of control" eating is simply "a sign that stressors in my life surpass the coping mechanisms that I have developed." Going back to a "diet" is NOT going to fix anything because it doesn't address the root of my problem. It's like wearing shoes that are too small and give you blisters and putting bandaids on the blisters instead of buying new shoes that fit.

    I used to be a custom dressmaker. Women's sizes in ready-made clothes are not standardized. However, sewing patterns are based on standardized measurements. If you look at the measurement on a pattern for say a size 12, they are the same for every pattern company. Some patterns may be a looser fit, while others are more fitted. Ready-made clothes companies' basic measurements vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
